The Law Office of Nicholas J. Louisa
Attorney Biography
Attorney Louisa concentrates his practice on zealously defending those accused of committing a criminal offense in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He stands beside his clients at every stage of a criminal case, advising them before an investigation begins, protecting their rights as it unfolds, defending them from the first charge through trial, and pursuing their appeal when necessary. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Florida, as well as in several federal courts.
Attorney Louisa is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. He graduated in the top 10% of his law school class and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. During law school, he was an editor member of the University of Miami Law Review, interned for the Honorable William P. Dimitrouleas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and interned with the Major Crimes Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. Attorney Louisa was also a summer associate at one of the 100 largest law firms in the United States. After law school, he joined that Am Law 100 firm as a commercial litigation associate and practiced in the firm’s New York and Miami offices. Attorney Louisa proudly established his own practice in September of 2014 after relocating to Massachusetts.
Attorney Louisa focused his practice on criminal defense after years of complex commercial litigation in federal and state court. His civil practice has included SEC enforcement proceedings, securities litigation, officer and director liability, contract disputes, business torts, consumer protection litigation, real estate litigation, fiduciary litigation, trust and estate litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, trademark and trade secret litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, real estate transactions, and negotiating proffer agreements and settlement agreements on behalf of clients. Attorney Louisa continues to accept select civil litigation and real estate matters.
In addition to his private practice, Attorney Louisa is certified by the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) to represent indigent clients as a Bar Advocate throughout the District Courts of Middlesex County. Attorney Louisa takes great pride in giving a voice to indigent defendants, who are among the most vulnerable members of our community, and in vigorously protecting their rights with sophisticated, skilled, and steadfast advocacy.
